Things to Know about Guernsey 2023 NatWest International Island Games XIX – Host, Participating Islands, and Sports
The XIX Island Games, also known as the 2023 NatWest Island Games for sponsorship reasons, were originally scheduled to take place in Guernsey in 2021 but were postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The games will be held on the island for the third time; the first two times were in 1987 and 2003.
When it is rescheduled, the week-long competition will feature 12 sports and 3,000 competitors from 24 islands.

The Faroe Islands were originally selected to host the games, however they subsequently declined to do so in 2015. The decision to give the games to Guernsey was made during the Island Games AGM in July 2016.
Dame Mary Perkins is the chair of the Guernsey organising committee, and she is supported by Peter Vidamour as sports director and Ian Damarell as Finance Director. Eric Legg serves as the advisor to the International Island Games Association (IIGA).
