According to a post on X and the business website, Tesla debuted the updated Model 3 sedan in North America on Wednesday while maintaining the same costs.
The manufacturer of electric vehicles has only listed the long-range and rear-wheel drive Model 3 models on its websites in North America, removing the most costly model, known as the “performance” variety.
The long-range Model 3 costs $45,990, while the rear-wheel drive option is currently $38,990. The long-range edition of Tesla now has a 341-mile range instead of the previous 333 miles.
According to Tesla’s website, the updated versions of both types come with additional features like a rear display for passengers in the backseat, two new colors, “Stealth Grey and Ultra Red,” and redesigned wheels.
In September of last year, Tesla initially unveiled the revised Model 3 in China, however at a higher price. A month later, the updated vehicle was put up for sale in Europe.
According to revised guidelines issued under the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, the Model 3 long-range and rear-wheel drive vehicles were no longer eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit at the end of the previous year.
In the fourth quarter, Tesla met its 2023 objective and exceeded market expectations by delivering a record number of electric vehicles; nonetheless, it lost its position as the leading EV manufacturer by sales to BYD of China.
