Palworld is one of the 6 games on Steam that has more than a million players playing at once right now

Palworld is currently the sixth game on Steam to have over a million players playing simultaneously.

After launching in early access on Friday for Steam and Xbox Series X/S, Palworld—dubbed “Pokémon with guns”—has been selling more than four million copies and breaking records left and right all weekend.

The monster-collecting survival game has been steadily rising in the charts throughout the weekend. Not only is it currently the most-played game on Steam, having reached a peak of 1.2 million concurrent players in the last 24 hours (more than PUBG, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike 2), but it has also surpassed previous records for concurrent players held by titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Elden Ring.

Palworld is currently just 4000 players short of Dota 2’s concurrent peak of 1,295,114 players, despite a server outage that is preventing players from joining in cooperative play.

Consequently, it should come as no surprise that Palworld’s cooperative servers have been erratic today and are still unavailable as of this writing. Developer Pocketpair said on social media yesterday that Palworld needed to hold “an emergency meeting” with Epic Games in order to “add an update to the Epic Online Services” after reaching 700,000 concurrent players. The team also stated earlier today that the servers are “currently experiencing outages due to an unusually high load worldwide” once more.

Just so you know, Pocketpair recently warned users against using the in-game item “Memory Reset Drug” because it might result in a bug that is “impossible to recover” from.

Currently, using the “Memory Reset Drug” may cause players to permanently lose some of their capture power. The development team is looking into this, but they ask players to “please refrain from using it until the investigation/correction is complete.”

Some less enthusiastic Pokémon fans have taken to social media to share how much they believe Palworld and Pokémon are alike, as the multiplayer monster-collecting game continues to break its own concurrent player records and clock in astounding sales numbers.
