• Strong password policies: Always make sure to create passwords that include eight characters or more and also consists of numbers, a combination of letters, symbols, etc. to make the password more difficult to crack, suggests Jaime Manteiga. For example, replacing the letter ‘S’ with ‘$’.
• Reliable security solution: The highly recognized information security researcher says that today’s systems do more than only preventing spams and virus. Using a reliable security solution can help scan files for unusual changes in programs, file sizes that match known malware, and other warning signs.
• Know what needs to be protected: Knowing what is crucial is also important. Businesses must know where the data is stored and used and accordingly protect those areas efficiently, points out Jaime Manteiga.
• Update the systems often: If the systems are not up-to-date, they might not be secure from these phishing attempts and cyber threats. Jaime Manteiga says that new viruses and malware are created every day and can pose as a threat to systems if they are not kept updated.
