Indian Student Representative Aman Agrawal Shines at World Food Forum

Aman Agrawal showcased his commitment to shaping the future of agriculture and made his presence felt at the FAO Headquarters in Rome.

Rome, Italy – The World Food Forum (WFF) was held this year from October 14 to 18 at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy. This prominent event brought together global experts, passionate change-makers, and visionary leaders of all ages around the theme of food security and sustainable agriculture. Among those making a significant impact was Aman Agrawal, India’s student representative. FAO, a specialized agency of the UN, works to end hunger, improve nutrition, and elevate food security and living standards worldwide.

It won’t be wrong to say how Aman Agrawal made significant contributions as India’s student representative. A participant from Indore Agriculture College and hailing from the village of Bichola in Harda district, the young talent brought the perspectives of rural farming communities to a global stage. Aman, who represented the International Association of Students in Agriculture and Allied Sciences (IAAS) advocated at the event for sustainable agriculture, food security, and collaboration between nations to address pressing global food challenges.

A farmer’s son and founder of FAgro India (Future Agronomists), which is a startup by students from agricultural backgrounds that creates a bridge between students, farmers, and entrepreneurs, to learn and grow together. Aman Agrawal at the World Food Forum showcased his commitment to advancing sustainable practices that benefit both local communities and the global agricultural landscape.

During the World Food Forum, he got the opportunity to meet various delegates from across varied countries of the world, which paved the way for him to hold interactions discussing India’s diverse agricultural practices and innovation potential, highlighting the need for collaboration with European nations. He held bilateral discussions with the Indian diaspora in Rome such as holding discussions with Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi (presently in the cadre, appointed as Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare) and Balaji, a Representative of India at UN (FAO). These meetings emphasized the significance of India’s agricultural sector on the world stage and the role of international support and collaboration in achieving sustainable growth.

Aman Agrawal expressed his gratitude for the support of key partners, including FAO, MGCi, and Zetta Farms, whose contributions, he said were instrumental in facilitating his delegation’s success. He is committed to driving change in local agricultural communities, showcasing the critical role of youth in shaping the future of food and agriculture.
