Himachal Weather: After the pre-monsoon, the devastation of last year will start again from July

Shimla: The weather in Himachal Pradesh has started changing, the capital Shimla is witnessing intermittent showers, sometimes strong and sometimes very slow, which has started giving the hint of monsoon. In the high mountain areas of Himachal Pradesh, rain disrupts the life of many people, which has always proved to be a challenge for the state government to compensate for it. In the heart-wrenching natural disaster that came in the year 2023, the lives of millions of people went back ten years. The central government does not give as much money to Himachal Pradesh as is needed, yet the state stood up on the strength of its resources, record-breaking tourists have entered the entire tourist season. According to the latest data of the state government, a record-breaking 12 lakh 34 thousand 789 vehicles have entered the tourist season, which has increased the economy of the state and improved the revenue.

Once again, the Meteorological Department has warned the people in advance and has issued an orange alert from 28 to 30 June regarding heavy rains, lightning, and thunderstorms in Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh, due to which the temperature of the state will fall more during the night and the sequence of light sunshine and rain will continue in the morning. Director of Meteorological Department Center Shimla, Surendra Paul said that after the end of pre-monsoon in the state, a series of heavy rains, thunderstorms and lightning, and landslides are going to start in many areas, due to which local people and tourists have been advised to stay away from rivers and drains, not to go to landslide areas and take care of weather conditions.

After the prediction of monsoon in Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD) has suddenly become strict. To avoid the heartbreaking natural disaster that came in Himachal Pradesh in the year 2023, a series of meetings are going on between the officials in HPPWD regarding monsoon preparations. Himachal Pradesh Government’s HPPWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department has completed all its preparations along with dozers, JCBs, and robots. In the HPPWD meeting, all the officials have been asked to be alert. Apart from this, a control room is going to be set up for all the complaints related to landslides and disasters in different areas of the state, so that the control room will play an important role in the event of road blockage anywhere. Vikramaditya said that tarring and metalling of roads is being done before the onset of monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh.

In the heartbreaking natural disaster that struck Himachal Pradesh in the year 2023, roads suffered the most damage. Due to which there was only a scene of devastation everywhere, that is why the roads of the state are being repaired before the monsoon.

The PWD Minister said that the condition of roads is most affected in the monsoon, that is why highways and roads are being repaired in advance.

Narendra Paul Singh, Engineer-in-Chief of Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department, said that before the heavy rains, an alert has been issued to the Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, and Executive Engineer of each zone to keep all the preparations in order. Guidelines have been issued by holding online meetings by contacting ground level engineers. All preparations have been completed by the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department for the monsoon starting from June.
