Being a photographer is a dream that many people have. However, it can be hard to get started. Ace photographer and filmmaker Tareck Raffoul shares his insights about creating captivating visual content for the digital age.
As a young man growing up in Lebanon, Tareck showed great interest in film and photography especially Tim Walker and Pedro Almodóvar works. He nurtured and harnessed his interests further when he received an opportunity to continue his studies in Europe. Tareck started his career as a photographer 6 years ago and made a mark in the city’s fashion industry. Since then, he has worked with some of the biggest brands, such as Chanel, Dior, L’Oreal, Netflix, Apple, and many more.
Tareck says, “To have the perfect image, sometimes it takes hours and even days of preparation. But it’s all worth it” He also adds that in this digital age, it has become essential to catch attention using the highest quality stills and subjects.
Tareck is freelancing now between Paris and Dubai. He creates photo and video content for numerous high-profile clients. And he worked with top publications such as Vogue Arabia, Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Haya magazine and most recently he shot the cover of Elle magazine.
Tareck added, “Today, with a smartphone you can take an award-winning photo as if it was taken by a high-end camera. Technology in photography and phones is evolving and becoming more creative as time goes by”.
