Education – reformed by Think Act Prosper Wilbert Wynnberg
The well trodden path of education offers little room for creativity. Complete your high school education, go to university, join a graduate scheme and eventually secure that comfortable, if not boring, desk job. It worked well for the previous generation, but the world has changed, and it has never been easier to start a business, and connect with other entrepreneurs.
Wilbert Wynnberg, a college dropout who went on to found three successful companies, has experienced first hand how the standard education system fails to teach entrepreneurial skills. Born in 1989 in Singapore, a country who highly prizes the traditional education route, he grew up alongside the information and technology age, and when looking around for business advice, he clearly saw a gap. Wynnberg saw that nobody was teaching the necessary tools for success and that young people were being told only one side of a success story. Where were the entrepreneurs? The stories of unconventional success? Of how to create happiness and a life worth living? And where were the classes on time management, prioritisation, planning and strategic thinking? So he decided that, if the education system failed to teach these skills, then he would make it his mission to provide these skills to people instead.
Wynnberg holds an MBA degree from Murdoch University and has completed an Algorithmic Trading Programme from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. In 2017 he founded Think Act Prosper, so that he could expand his reach and help more people access this content. His global media and education company is one of the fastest-growing providers of educational resources (currently in the form of a digital magazine, online articles & podcasts) and business conferences. Think Act Prosper believes that anyone who seeks this type of quality education should be able to access it, and that the ones teaching the content are experienced practitioners with real life experience. Since Think Act Prosper began in 2017, it has conducted live and virtual events on 4 continents and in over 20 countries. The skills that Think Act Prosper offers to their students are boldness, creativity, wisdom, knowledge, and friendship, they believe that no one can succeed in life without these important attributes. These crucial skills equip their students with the necessary skills to go out into the world, create connections and make decisions that will increase their success rate and allow them to thrive in today’s entrepreneurial world.
Today, Wynnberg is a serial entrepreneur, international speaker, and bestselling author. He has developed a passion for connecting with his audience and helping them change their life for the better. Once he realized he could use the skills that he learned over time to help others, he has not stopped sharing since. Through seminars, live programs, books and podcast interviews, he has already impacted the lives of over 250,000 people and has his eyes set on global reach.
Those that attend his talks and hear his story of hard work, determination and perseverance, are always left inspired. He is able to make a lasting impact on his audience through his unique charismatic attitude and storytelling skills. Wynnberg is humble, yet hard hitting – he knows what is possible to achieve and wants to see everyone else going after life with the same determination.
Wynnberg is well known in Singapore’s business world, and has been interviewed on large media outlets including; Forbes, Thrive Global, Medium, Lianhe Zaobao and Myanmar Media 7. For him, the media is just another way to share his story, teach and inspire others. While he rarely talks in monetary terms of success, he often tells his story of his fear of heights, eventually challenging himself to skydive and face his fear head on (from 15,000 feet). For him, this experience was life changing and he encourages us all to look at our fears and face them – for they are usually also where our success lies.
The global media empire that Wynnberg has founded has already transformed lives around the world, and yet, it is just getting started. Considering that he has managed to do all of this within just 3 years, he still has a lot more time to expand and grow. What is next for Wynnberg? After joining Forbes Business Council in 2020, expect to see his name and advice in more places soon.
