NBC’s Chicago Med has two new doctors joining the fold in Season 10: Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever, Road House) and Sarah Ramos (Parenthood, The Bear) The new season starts Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on NBC and following day on Peacock.
In regular roles in the series, Sarah Ramos will play Dr. Caitlin Lenox and Darren Barnet will play Dr. John Frost. Deadline has learned from reliable sources that Lenox is preparing to transform Gaffney Medical. Frost, a resident in pediatrics, is keeping a secret.
Following the departures of veteran showrunners Andy Schneider and Diane Frolov, Season 10 will also welcome a new showrunner named Allen MacDonald.
Chicago Med follows the lives of the doctors, nurses, and other staff members who keep everything together as well as the emotional daily chaos of the city’s newest, most advanced trauma center.
The expansion of Ramos and Barnet to the cast follows the new declaration that Dominic Downpours was leaving the series. To bring his story to a close, it is currently unknown if he will reprise his role as ER surgeon Dr. Crockett Marcel in Season 10.
S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, and Marlyne Barrett all signed new contracts to stay on the popular medical drama series, as Deadline exclusively revealed last month. Sharon Goodwin, the chief administrator of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, is played by Merkerson, who won an Emmy for her performance. Platt plays the psychiatry department chief, Dr. Daniel Charles. Barrett plays Maggie Lockwood, the emergency department’s charge nurse.
Luke Mitchell, Steven Weber, and Jessy Schram also star.
Dick Wolf, Allen MacDonald, Stephen Hootstein, and Peter Jankowski serve as executive producers on the show. In collaboration with Wolf Entertainment, Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces Chicago Med.
