Apple’s Business Connect Updates Help Small Businesses to Build and Showcase Their Brand Identity
Apple has announced new tools for improving business exposure across its digital ecosystem, to assist small and virtual businesses in establishing brand presence among the nearly 1 billion Apple users.
On October 16, the Cupertino-based software giant said that it would be upgrading its Business Connect initiative and offering tools to help any business, including those without a physical location, expand. The upgrade allows businesses of all sizes to better control how they look across various Apple apps and connect with customers.
New features to help businesses promote their brands
With the latest update, businesses may now enable Branded Mail, which allows them to include their brand name and logo in email communications received through Apple’s Mail app. This tool makes it easier for clients to determine whether they are engaging with reputable organizations, dramatically lowering the likelihood of being misidentified as suspicious businesses.
Another tool that Apple presented this week is the Business Caller ID, due out next year. Businesses can use this to display their name, logo, and department on the iPhone’s inbound call screen. This will not only assist businesses in maintaining their credibility and preventing them from being deemed spam callers, but it will also make it simple for users to distinguish verified businesses from unknown callers.
In addition, Apple announced that an update to its Tap to Pay feature will be available soon, allowing businesses to display their logo instead of generic category icons during payment transactions. Even though this is a simple adjustment, it has the potential to significantly add to building brand trust and visibility because shoppers will be able to view the logo at the vital time of purchase.
Reaching clients via Apple’s vast ecosystem
From the get-go, Apple planned Business Connect to be a self-service platform that would allow all registered businesses to develop and manage their brand identity across various Apple apps and experiences, such as Maps, Mail, and Wallet. When the platform started in January 2023, businesses could claim their business listings, edit their location details, and upload logos and photos. Unfortunately, the features were only relevant for businesses having physical locations at the time.
Apple, on the other hand, is currently improving the utility of Business Connect for smaller businesses, particularly those that operate solely online and do not have a physical location. “We’re excited to offer all businesses—including those without a physical location—the ability to create a brand that appears across the Apple apps that over a billion people use every day,” David Dorn, Apple’s senior director of internet software and services product, said in a news release.
Small businesses might struggle to stand out in today’s extremely competitive market, let alone acquire momentum, particularly when competing with larger, more well-known brands. Apple’s addition of the new tools to Business Connect provides lesser-known businesses with new opportunities to express their identity across numerous touchpoints and boost their chances of extending their consumer base.
How to use Apple’s new Business Connect update
Small businesses may use Apple’s new tools to establish a strong, consistent online presence that reaches millions of potential customers. To register their business on the Apple Business Connect designated website, owners can utilize an existing Apple account or create a new account. After joining up, clients can use the available features and tools to personalize their brand, logo, and information cards.
