Amazon will establish a new fulfillment center in Clarksville in Tennessee with 500 full-time jobs

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, alongside Amazon authorities and the Department of Economic and Community Development, reported Amazon will set up a new fulfillment center in Clarksville.

The new fulfillment center will make 500 full-time jobs with far-reaching benefits at the new 1 million-square-foot facility. Workers will be tasked with picking, packing, and transporting bigger client items, for example, bulk paper goods, sporting goods, patio furniture, and bigger home products and electronics. The facility is relied upon to launch in 2022.

“It is a privilege to welcome another world-renowned company to our community,” said Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett. “The process to bring the Amazon Distribution Center here involved a lot of collaboration with our government partners, existing local industries, and the County Commission. Once again Montgomery County stood out because of the amazing people of this community.”

Beginning pay at the facility will be more than $15 an hour, in addition to extensive advantages including health, dental, and vision insurance; 401k; and paid parental leave, the release said.

“New corporate investment in our community is welcome news,” said Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts. “That news is especially welcomed when higher wages and benefits are in the same sentence. These are the key ingredients we need to help raise the standard of living for our families, and I’m excited to see a continuing trend of corporations investing in our community. This is positive proof that Clarksville-Montgomery County remains the number one best place to live.”

The facility is relied upon to launch in 2022.

“This fulfillment facility comes on a wave of recent announcements of Amazon investing in Tennessee. The creation of 500 new jobs will bolster the economic growth that Montgomery County is experiencing, and it will support Amazon’s initiatives across our state,” Governor Lee said.

“We thank Amazon for choosing Clarksville for its fourth Tennessee fulfillment center in roughly 18 months and the 500 jobs that will be created as a result of this project. Tennessee continues to see growth and success from its partnership with this leading global corporation, and we appreciate the $13 billion invested and thousands of jobs created by Amazon in our state,” TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe said.

“Amazon is proud to be part of the Clarksville community and make this investment toward workforce and economic advancement in the area. With starting pay of more than $15 an hour as well as comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401k, paid parental leave, and more, we are excited to offer new opportunities to this talented local workforce,” Amazon spokesperson Nikki Forman added.
