Queen Creek welcomes Macayo’s newest location

On Sundays, the Mexican restaurant opens at 10 a.m. to accommodate early risers and the local church community. The dog-friendly patio at the new Queen Creek location, located at 22460 E. Ocotillo Road, has a wrap-around porch-style design and an indoor/outdoor bar with garage-style doors.
On Wednesday, January 17, Macayo’s Mexican Food quietly opened its 13th Valley location in Queen Creek.
This is the eighth location to open for the well-known Mexican restaurant, which has been around for 77 years since Kind Hospitality acquired the brand five years ago. Macayo’s is still serving diners the original, traditional recipes that have been made by hand since the restaurant opened, even as it expands and changes under the Kind Hospitality brand.
As the originator of the chimichanga, Macayo’s has garnered a devoted clientele. In addition, the menu offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes like tacos, enchiladas, burros, salads, flautas, and fajitas, as well as house specialties like Tres Rellenos, Green Chile Pork Stew, and Chicken Poblano. Another popular feature of Macayo’s is its assortment of margaritas, which are served in commemorative ceramic margarita glasses.
The dog-friendly patio at the Queen Creek location, located at 22460 E. Ocotillo Road, has a wrap-around porch-style design and an indoor/outdoor bar with garage-style doors.
Macayo’s general manager is Cruz Olivarez. Cruz, who was raised in Mesa, started working in the hospitality sector in 2011 and has been a member of the Kind Hospitality team since 2021.
Macayo Queen Creek hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. On Sundays, they open at 10 a.m. to accommodate early risers and the church community.
“In our strategic plan to grow the brand, we are very cognizant about bringing Macayo’s to new and growing communities throughout the greater metro area,” said Nava Singam, owner and CEO of Kind Hospitality, the restaurant group that operates Macayo’s. “We are very thankful to the Town of Queen Creek for the warm welcome and being very supportive throughout construction. We look forward to becoming a part of the Queen Creek community and providing them with our handcrafted Mexican food and memorable dining experiences for many years to come.”
