Here are the 10 most popular AI tools for 2023 and tips on how to use them to increase your income
2023 has been dubbed the year of artificial intelligence by many due to the rapid and, for some, unsettling advancements in the field.
Nonetheless, a recent study demonstrates that fear did not deter people from embracing AI. A recent survey conducted by online content writing company Writerbuddy.ai indicates that ChatGPT is the most popular generative AI tool around the world, having received over 14 billion visits between September 2022 and August 2023.
Using SEMrush, a widely used SEO tool, Writerbuddy examined over 3,000 artificial intelligence tools to identify the most popular tools of the year. Over 24 billion people visited the top 50 AI tools combined, with men making up the majority of these visits.
Based on the rankings, these are the top 10 most widely used AI tools:

Even though ChatGPT has received some negative press this year—from Sam Altman’s leadership change to possibly dangerous AI developments—people are still using the generative tool. The top bot in the industry can do a lot of things, like creating a thorough CV and organizing your weekly schedule.
Though they aren’t as well-known as Open AI’s chatbot, other generative tools on the list, such as Google’s Bard and Quillbot, have comparable abilities to summarize and paraphrase text. Furthermore, many people use programs like Character.ai and Novel.ai as virtual companions.
According to Susan Gonzales, founder and CEO of AIandYou, a nonprofit that teaches AI skills to people from marginalized communities, if you’re only using AI for entertainment, you might be missing out on the chance to make money without a fancy job or college degree.
Let’s say you run a small business or are a freelancer. Gonzales stated in July that AI tools can “help improve [your] business, improve inventory management, analyze customer behavior or gain competitive intelligence. Small businesses can use AI tools to target their marketing and advertising efforts more effectively … They can identify new revenue opportunities.”
Additionally, AI can assist you in finding a side gig, such as tutoring.
“There are many online learning opportunities to understand how AI works, which then could help [someone] possibly become an AI tutor, or to do some AI training to pass it on to the next generation,” Gonzales said. “The wonderful thing today is … all the information is out there.”
