7SIX9 CEO Ross Lee: Stay Open-Minded, Stay Successful

What was a major challenge you had to overcome to get to where you are?
When I started working with my team to found what would become 7SIX9, we didn’t make any money for the first six months. That was incredibly stressful, and not just for me. Now that 7SIX9 has found such amazing success, I’m really grateful for how we’ve grown.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
We’re one of the first entertainment groups to bring music artists together from China and the United States. I’m very proud of how we’ve managed to bring together these cultures to produce records that people really love.
Do you have any advice for others looking to do what you are?
Always stay open-minded. Don’t trap yourself in the norm, and don’t bother caring about what other people say. Just because the industry does things a certain way doesn’t mean you have to. Sometimes that’s just too easy. If people are telling you you’re not going to make it, chances are pretty good you’re doing better than you think you are.
