We now know how much the 2025 VW ID.Buzz will cost when it finally arrives in dealerships later this year. The eagerly anticipated EV Microbus from Volkswagen will start at $61,545 and even exceed $71,000 for the fully loaded First Edition, the company announced today.
By announcing pricing, battery range, and the initial options that will be available at launch later this year, Volkswagen has taken one of the final steps toward delivering the ID Buzz in the United States. The ID Buzz Pro S model, which comes standard with RWD and seven seats and was previously confirmed for the American market, will start at $59,995.
The 2025 ID Buzz now has a finalized EPA-estimated range of 234 miles for RWD models and 231 miles for 4Motion AWD models. This is significantly less than some anticipated estimates of 300 miles on a single charge for a vehicle with a large 91kWh battery.
The First Edition and two trims make up the ID. Buzz lineup. The Pro S is the van’s entry-level model and its most affordable version. Additionally, it is only available with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive powertrain that’s good for 282 horsepower. The ID.Buzz Pro S costs just over $61,000 and includes desirable standard features like heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, power-sliding rear doors, a power liftgate, and three-zone climate control.
The Pro S Plus is the next model up. It starts at $63,495 for RWD with bench seating as standard and at $67,995 for AWD, but only has six seats and captain’s chairs. It also comes with premium features like a heads-up display, “Area View” surround cameras for easy parking, a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system with 14 speakers, and dual power sliding rear doors that are easy to open and close.
There is also a first-edition model that is only available for the launch. It starts at $65,495 with RWD (five seats) and $69,995 with AWD (six seats). Both models come standard with a special dune interior package. There are also several two-tone exterior color options, with candy white on top and the rest in cabana blue, orange, green, and other colors. The first edition is based on the Pro S trim but has special features like 20-inch wheels, roof rail crossbars, special badging, easy doors, a better audio system, and an electrochromic panoramic glass roof (also available on the Plus).
The Pro S Plus starts at $65,045, but it comes with a trailer hitch, a head-up display, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and a “flexboard” that makes a flat load floor when the rear seats are stowed. A second electric motor with 335 horsepower and all-wheel drive costs $4500 more. Additionally, the AWD Pro S Plus comes standard with standard captain’s chairs and a heated windshield; On the RWD model, the latter is an option that costs $695. A panoramic glass roof can be added to models with either powertrain for $1495.
For $67,045, the ID. Buzz First Edition includes all of the lower-tier accessories as well as a few more baubles. In addition, it has unique wheels and badges, heritage floor mats in each of the three rows, roof-mounted crossbars, and electrochromic tinting on the glass roof. Again, all-wheel drive costs $4500 more, bringing that model’s total cost to $71,545.
Estimates for the ID. Buzz’s driving range have been released by the EPA; the rear-drive model has a rating of 234 miles on a full charge. The ID. Buzz, with its more powerful all-wheel drive and similar estimated range of 231 miles per charge, isn’t too far behind.
