The hybrid is a new model in the lineup, and all 2025 Civics will get an update with new wheels, a redesigned front end, and probably some interior tweaks.
For 2025, the Honda Civic gets a thorough makeover that includes a hybrid variant. Although we already knew that a gas-electric Civic would be making a comeback, Honda has now released images of this new model, which also reveals the updated styling that the 2025 Civic line will get.
Apart from the hybrid badge on the rear, the updated front bumper, grille, and stylish new wheels resemble the outgoing Civic Type R’s aggressive design. Honda has stated that it will also be introducing new features to the 2025 Civic, though the specifics have not yet been disclosed.
The Civic Hybrid is anticipated to feature a smaller gasoline engine than the Accord and CR-V hybrids, but it will otherwise share a similar setup with those larger models. We wouldn’t be shocked to see a 1.5-liter gas engine in place of the 2.0-liter inline-four in the Civic Hybrid, similar to the configuration found in the Civic-based Insight that was phased out in 2022.
What this means for the Civic’s current engine options—a 2.0-liter inline-four and a 1.5-liter turbo-four—is unknown. According to Honda, the lineup will be set up similarly to the CR-V and Accord, which means that some trim levels will only be available as non-hybrids and others exclusively as hybrids. With the top Hybrid Sport Touring model, we assume that means the higher trims will only be available in hybrid form. Honda anticipates that sales of the hybrid will account for 40% of all Civic sales.
