2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Google Celebrates Initiation of 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup With Doodle

Google on Friday denoted the initiation of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France with a doodle made around the teams taking an interest in the football mega event. The cartoon, Google notes, commends the eighth edition of the tournament with a collage of characters from its forthcoming series of doodles by visitor artists representing every one of the contending nations.

The new doodle, with green letters joined by pictures of differing female soccer players, will show up on the search giant’s homepage Friday. In a blog post, Google said it’ll additionally highlight soccer-themed doodles by artists from the nations taking an interest in the World Cup.

Everything begins with a match among France and South Korea around early afternoon PT. This year marks the eighth FIFA Women’s World Cup conference, with the first in 1991.

“Each Doodle will capture the local excitement of the World Cup competition as well as what soccer means to the guest artist personally,” Google said in its depiction of today’s doodle.

Throughout the next month, players from the national teams of 24 nations will contend, with the final match in the greatest FIFA Women’s World Cup yet occurring on July 7 in Lyon, France.

“No one is more excited than Ettie, the French poussin, this year’s official mascot!” Google said in an announcement.

Seven teams will show up in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, including the American team, who return as defending champions hoping to win their fourth title this year.

Four teams will make their FIFA Women’s World Cup debut in 2019: Chile, Scotland, South Africa, and Jamaica–the first Caribbean team ever to qualify.
